1 Eat Kachori – Must do thing in Kota
If you come to Kota and not taste the Kota’s kachori then it’s no less than a sin. Kotaite loves there Kachori and you can see its craze right from the time when sun comes out.
People in large numbers gather around Kachori shops/stalls and wait for their turn.
Kota’s Kachori is a bit different from the normal Kachoris that are available all over Rajasthan, these are smaller in size and contains Asafetida (Hing) which gives it a unique taste.
Be ready to get your mouth invaded by them. Eating a Kachori is one of the must things to do in Kota.
2. Visit Garadia Mahadev
The second obvious thing to do in Kota is to visit Garadia Mahadev, it is a breathtaking place that has no match for its beauty.
You need to get Tickets to enter inside it as it comes under Mukundra wildlife sanctuary.
There is a temple of Mahadev ji here where you can offer your blessings. And right from this spot you will witness the gorgeous Chambal and its curve.

3. Gaipernath Waterfall
If there is a place in Kota that explains you the extreme beauty of Nature then it has to be Gaipernath.
Gaipernath Mahadev waterfalls are situated a bit outskirt of Kota, on the way to Rawatbhata. But its location should not be the hurdle to avoid visiting it.
It is one of the most beautiful places you can see not even in Rajasthan but whole of India. It is just unimaginable.
The mountains have been cut into half due to the passage of water or maybe earthquake and there is this amazing series of waterfalls going from the top and at last meeting in Chambal river.
There are almost 200-300 stairs that takes you to the bottom of mountain and temperature suddenly drops by 2 to 3 degrees and it’s so peaceful to hear the water falling from the mountain.

4. Drink Tea
Tea is one of the most popular drinks in India and if you happen to be a tea lover (just like me) then you must visit Babu Tea stall In Gumanpura.
There are two stalls of the same franchise opposite to each other, but you should visit the old one to get the authentic taste of it.
Be ready to wait for your turn as it remains crowded most of the time.
5. Evening at Kst
Kishore Sagar Talab (KST) has been one of the most popular places in Kota. And spending an evening here is a must thing to do.
This place for some reasons becomes so romantic during evenings.
Jag Mandir in the middle of the pond and Chimneys of Kota thermal plant in the backdrop with setting sun just makes this place so unreal.
6. Drink Lassi
Shambhu Ji is a popular stall in Kota that is located in one of the busiest markets of Kota, that is in Rampura.
You cannot miss to taste the divine Lassi at Shambhu Ji but if you happen to come here during winters then Milk and Jalebi needs to be your order.

This place is not widely known by most of the people as it is a bit hidden from the normal eyes.
It is just near Hanging Bridge and the views from here are breathtaking. I don’t have words right now to explain how beautiful the view is from here.

8. Visit the Market of Rampura
Rampura is one of the biggest and oldest markets of Kota where the size of street gets narrower with each step you take forward.
If you are someone who is into shopping then to visit this market should be in your things to do in Kota.
Also, for street photographers it is no less than a heaven. You will find so many frames that you will keep hopping from one to another.
9. Take photos of the Old Kota.
Streets of Rampura and Nayapura will seduce every Street Photographer. If you happen to be one of them make sure you visit Old Kota as there is no end to the things you would want on your camera screens.
10. Seven wonders park
Who doesn’t like the thought of seeing 7 wonders of the world in just one single park?
You can find that in Kota, just at the edge of KST there is a 7-wonder themed park where you can enjoy your evening with friends or family members.
It also happened to be featured in Badrinath ki Dulhnia Movie. So, if you are an Alia Bhatt’s or a Varun Dhawan’s fan then this place should be in your things to do in Kota.
11. Sunset from Abheda mahal
This place has my heart. I have visited this place and since then it became one of my favorite spots in the city.
It is divided into three section, the first one is the garden that you enter into and there is a small pond on the right side with a bridge to cross over it. And to the right is the Mahal which is said to be the hunting ground of Rulers back then.
The view that you get from here will leave you in awe and watching a sunset from here is a must thing to do in Kota. Believe me it will be one of the most beautiful sunsets you ever watched.
12. Go visit the mall, and have a sneak peek into the lives of coaching students.
Kota is the education hub of India, there are no chance you haven’t heard about it. Watching the herd of student and the struggles and passion they have for their studies is a must watch in Kota.
Kota city mall is the place where they mostly come to reduce their stress. Also striking a conversation with them and getting to know their daily routine might blow your head.
You might be thinking what a waste of time to tell that driving over a bridge is one of the things to do in Kota.
13. Buy Kota Doria Sarees for the ladies.
One of the things that Kota is known for is its Doria Saree. These Sarees are exclusively made in Kota. So, if you have a lady gang waiting for you at the home taking one of them will serve as a good souvenir.

But believe me once you are on this bridge your mind will change. This place is extremely good for a photoshoot and the bridge in itself looks so stunning.

You can call this place a hidden or not widely known places in Kota but is an extremely peaceful place to be at.
What makes it more interesting is that this place is located at one of the busiest parts of Kota in Rampura.

16. Watch Birds and Sunset at Alaniya Dam
This place is extremely beautiful, the one you see in the movies and wish to visit at any cost.
Well you can do that here in Kota. Alaniya Dam is located 25-30 km from the city center and that makes it one of the must things to do in Kota.
It takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the city and lands you straight into a peaceful environment and cleanest water that you can witness these days and fisherman rowing boats over it is so scenic.

But none of them matches with the boats rides from Chambal Garden because here you are not riding in a pond or an enclosed area. This is Chambal River filled with lots of crocodiles and other creatures.

If you happen to be a party lover and needs a good place to hang out after all the travelling in Kota.
Gone are those times when it was hard to find places in Kota to enjoy the night culture. Although the places do close earlier compared to other cities but still there are few places that are worth going.

20. Visit Nearby Towns
After doing all these things if you still get time and the stamina to explore more then there are so many places nearby Kota that are also worth visiting.
Just at a distance of 38 – 40km from Kota, a small town named Bundi with rich heritage lies also known as Choti Kashi because of the abundance of Temples.
There are so many places in Bundi to explore and take back memories.
Rawatbhata is a place that you won’t believe to be a part of Rajasthan. Fully loaded with lush green environment this place feels like a part of some Hill station.
Located at a distance of 45-50km of Kota this place needs to be in your things to do in Kota.
An extremely cute little village near Rawatbhata named Bhainsrorgarh famous for its fort is also a must visit while in Kota.
There is one more famous place in Bhainsrorgarh that you should visit is a small hanging bridge popularly known as Jhula among locals.
